Speaker of the government, Fatemeh Mohajerani, reacted to the rumor about changing the name of the Persian Gulf by stating that those who seek to change its name do not understand the thousands of years of Iranian history.

Mohajerani wrote on her personal page on the X social network: “The Persian Gulf is not just a geographical name; it is part of the historical identity of the Iranian nation.”

She added: “Those who seek to change the name of the Persian Gulf do not understand the thousands of years of Iranian history. These futile movements, more than provoking us, reveal your lack of credibility.”

According to Didar News, Associated Press reported, citing two American officials, that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, intends to announce during his visit to Saudi Arabia that the United States will from now on refer to the Persian Gulf as the “Arabian Gulf” or the “Gulf of Arabia.”
