According to the bulletin news, quoting from Mehr news agency, the last time Iranian omrah pilgrims were sent to the land of revelation during the holy month of Ramadan was in 2014, and for the past 10 years, there has been a deep longing for Iranian pilgrims to experience spiritual moments next to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in the month of God’s hospitality.
Based on the announcement by the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, omrah pilgrimages in the holy month of Ramadan and the New Year will be conducted from 16 airports across the country, from March 7 to April 11, 2023, with 36,952 people traveling in 368 caravans.
Registration for this pilgrimage has begun in recent days, and in some provinces, the capacities have been filled, while in some cities, there are still available spots and the registration period is ongoing. It is recommended that applicants proceed with their registration through the unified system of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization as soon as possible.
It is also worth noting that pilgrims who have traveled before March 7, 2023, have managed to experience the month of God’s hospitality in the land of revelation, due to the overlap of the months of Sha’ban and Ramadan. Since February 20, 5,000 pilgrims have been sent in 50 caravans.
The current year’s omrah pilgrimages started on September 20, 2022, and will continue until April 30, 2023, with over 200,000 pilgrims expected to travel, which is 25,000 more than the initial projections.
Due to the favorable reception and increased planning, there has been an increase in pilgrim numbers, and this trend is expected to continue and expand in the upcoming year.
